The story behind

Founded in Stockholm last summer 2021

Johan got the inspiration for the company during a football trip to Amsterdam in the autumn of 2019. The trip was about to end in failure as the purchased match tickets were fake. Attempts to cheer up the accompanying teenagers with canal tours and visits to the Van Gogh Museum ended with the threat of calling the authority for childrens rights 🙂 After eagerly googling, they stumbled upon an activity that was a mix of an escape room, city walk and a history lesson. For 2 hours, fathers and sons wandered around the central parts of Amsterdam and solved one puzzle after another without spending a single minute on mobile surfing while the teenagers’ knowledge of World War II and the Dutch resistance movement rose to unimaginable heights. Johan and his brother thought it was at least as fun and thought that this was an activity they would like to do again at home in Stockholm. But similar activity did not exist. Therefore, Johan together with Pontus decided to start History Mystery Stockholm.

History Mysterys’ Mysteries are based on true historical events. But to get that little extra, we have taken ourselves some “artistic freedom”. We are now working in Stockholm since the summer of 2021.
